I have text within a rectangle like

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog

I want this text to be split on spaces or not split to fit into the rectangle without being stretched, just given a different size.

I want to change the text inside the svg and have the rendered result as described.

Here, the width is obeyed:

Notice that the text is not stretched. It is about rearranging words and resizing the font and rearranging the whole text to fill as much as possible of the rectangle.

How can I accomplish that?

Play with the font size. Also try setting the text alignment to justified.

It looks like you did accomplish it. Are you saying that you want the text to be automatically adjusted for any given size of rectangle?

This is a classic case of not having enough information to answer the question.

I'm not exactly sure of the question either, but I think I see what he means. I just went to try to change the justification of just some text on one line, after typing some words on 3 separate lines, and then choosing 'center'. Might be a bug in it; the entire text box moved over an inch or so, very bizarre, and the highlighted text did not center at all! Can anyone else re-produce that error? I think that is what the problem is, the centering is not working.
