Exact an image out of an imported PDF

Postby adthelad » Wed May 06, 2015 1:33 am

Hi, I have been using inkscape to retrieve images out of pdf files, and it has worked well in the past. However, when importing this file it seems the image and text are combined together. How can I retrieve just the image?

If the entire page is scanned, the entire page is a bitmap.

You could try the crop extension... Menu:Extensions>Raster>Crop

You could use GIMP to crop the bitmap to the size you like.

If you need the text as text you might try an OCR program.
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Hello
Could you share the original pdf file, or the imported SVG?
What exactly do you want to do with that pdf page?
