Change background color of app? (not document background col

Postby Martoon » Sun Nov 25, 2007 7:01 am

Is there a way to change the background color of the Inkscape view, while leaving the actual document background setting transparent? I'm making images that I export as PNG, with transparency. The app they're used in layers them on a black background, so I'd like to design them in that context. I can set the background color in the document properties to opaque black, but then I need to set the alpha to zero and back every time I export the bitmap.

Essentially, I want to change the application's background color that it renders against to black, without changing the document's color.

Any way to do this?

I'm not aware of such an option, but for the reason you described I think there definitely should be. I recommend sending a suggestion to the developers mailing list. It may not be difficult for them to include in version 0.46 if it doesn't exist already.

Good idea. Thanks!
