Also found a little Python script which may be of use - http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Tools#ai2svg.py

Inkscape can import EMF files so you might have better luck finding a program that can convert AI or EPS to EMF as a first step.

What is an EMF file? When I look at the Inkscape Manual I do not see this type of file.

Would importing to Openoffice work then export as SVG?

It's just another common vector file format. I've tested and Inkscape can definitely import this file.

If you have ghostscript and the ghostviewer and pstoedit. You can convert an .eps file to .emf and inkscape .45.1 recognizes it with no problem. Thanks for pointing out the use of an .emf micro

depending upon the version of ai that created it, you may find that using the pdf import in SVN would work too, as newer ai files are essentially pdfs.

pstoedit could import into svg (it work better than if you tried to import to emf), but the color result will be altered :(

how about AI files ? I couldnt convert using it.
can someone convert this file for me ? :D
