This is a read-only archive of the inkscapeforum.com site. You can search for info here or post new questions and comments at I've downloaded the installer and the program (6.02 KB & 22.4 KB), but neither one will open. It keeps asking me to choose from a list of programs to use to open it. None of which are the installer. I tried right click> properties, but I see nothing about changing it to administrator. HELP!
ADD ON: I've tried to download it again, but it stops at 22.48 KB. So, what do I do now?

You only need the installer (Inkscape-0.46.win32.exe), and it should be 35,074,836 bytes. If yours is only 6.02 KB (or even 6.02 MB) it must have failed to download properly.

I think you are somehow downloading the SourceForge download page instead of the .exe file. This could possibly happen if your download software is confused by the redirection that SourceForge does.
You could try again with different download software.
