When exporting PNGs with Inkscape they are exported with 24 bit per pixel.
In some cases it might be good to keep the files as small as possible and 24 BPP is not needed, sometimes 8 BPP or 4 BPP are enough.
Is there a way to save PNGs with reduced color depth? Just curious...
Of course, I could use another program afterwards to reduce the color depth.
PNG export, reduce color depth BPP<24 ?
PNG export, reduce color depth BPP<24 ?
Win7/64, Inkscape 0.92.2
Re: PNG export, reduce color depth BPP<24 ?
There's no setting within Inkscape that would allow for that, no. Imagemagick could be used to make an extension do this, though.
Btw. I like pngquant a lot, it does a great job of reducing file size without visible differences.
