Re: Blend in Inkscape ?
draw one side of the arc. duplicate. horizontal flip. snap the endpoints together with snap nodes (document properties). select both arc segments and convert stroke to path. select both arc segments, effects, generate from path, interpolate.

Re: Blend in Inkscape ?
waw .. that's cool ...
I was tried with interpolate but it doesnt work ... now I know that I must convert the stroke into path first (I thought a stroke is path ... )
Thank you !

Ok when i draw the arc then duplicate, then horizontal flip. then snap the endpoints together this does not happen even though in document properties I have snap nodes to objects and snap to object nodes enabled the endpoints do not snap together. What are possible causes of this.

Just one more question what setting are used on the interpolation I keep receiving this error
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "share\extensions\interp.py", line 315, in ?
e.affect()
File "C:\Program Files\Inkscape\share\extensions\inkex.py", line 157, in affect
self.effect()
File "share\extensions\interp.py", line 185, in effect
t += l / etotal
ZeroDivisionError: float division

Re: Blend in Inkscape ?
How are you getting it to blend from one color to the next?

I think you need to check "Interpolate style".

Re: Blend in Inkscape ?
there is an official tutorial on interpolation that has just been written. (it is not inculded in inkscape yet, but should be in version 0.46)

Re: Blend in Inkscape ?
That's a great tutorial. It explained a number things I didn't know, such as the significance of the first node.
Re: Blend in Inkscape ?
thanks!
its the first (of hopefully many) new tutorials...
if anyone wants to contribute, we have a collaborative space on the inkscape wiki where anyone can put contibute...

Re: Blend in Inkscape ?
How would you explain that some paths interpolate as the upper, and some as the bottom one?
Re: Blend in Inkscape ?
I haven't looked into the issue, but was the only difference between those the shapes the shape or was there a different number of nodes as well? What happens if you start with the original shape that works ok, then reshape it to the latter? Does it interpolate ok then or do you get the same result?

Re: Blend in Inkscape ?
you need to reverse the second path (path> reverse)
Re: Blend in Inkscape ?
@Simarilius: Thanks that works, and now both looks OK. I thought it was a malfunction , but it is just the other way.

Re: Blend in Inkscape ?
1 -Select the elements that will be used to make blend;
2 - Go to Extensions -> Generate from Path -> Interpolate
3 - Adjust the blend values, as Illustrator.
