smooth edges by dragging

Postby Dome123 » Mon Feb 09, 2015 11:03 pm

Hi,

Is there a possibility to smooth edges of any shapes? I know that rectangles (as object) have a handles to smooth edges (corner radius).
But: I want to drag any point (node) and drag a radius. The point automatically split into 2 nodes and move along the path.
Hard to explain (english is not my main tongue) :D But please take a look to my awesome animated gif (Attachment; made with gimp).
A picture is worth a thousand words.

I hope Inkscape or a plugin can do this.
Again: I don't mean the rectangle object corner radius feature. Just like that for all shapes.

Hi,

the "all other shapes" can mean cusp nodes with two curved segments, thus (?) a programmatically solution is not yet available.

There are something similar in development, also there was a discussion on it.

It can be constructed manually though.
