Unfortunately all it tells me is this

This means Ghostscript (gs) is required and cannot be found. This may mean Ghostscript is not installed, or it's path is not in the PATH environment variable.

But in the whole thing it doesn't tell me how to fix it or so. Does anybody run inkscape on linux and is able to save as an AI?

See my recent answer in the topic "Can I save as AI or Export to AI".

[Hint: Inkscape 0.47 no longer exports to AI because Adobe Illustrator can open SVG files]

Ok i see the reason, and i know adobe illustrator supports SVG. And thats what i told them. but some reason when they download it on a windows pc it renames it to a txt. Yes its just a simple rename back to svg but hey these are clients. They want it simple and as an AI otherwise hehe i wouldn't be asking for it hehe. I know this isn't the place but I found out that Xara can export to AI, but having trouble with opening svg files in it. anyways I am gonna try this route.
