hello!
I want to set the background of an image (the canvas) to be a specific png file I have, with specific dimensions and its colors intact
in that canvas, I want to place an object/drawing inside an EPS file, that I am not sure how to make it have transparent background, so that the produced image will be the object on my custom background
any hint?
thanks!

Re: custom background from png
Hi user,
EPS files, apparently, can contain raster and/or vector objects. Do you know if it has raster or vector content? If not, this probably isn't something want try to do.

Re: custom background from png
No, i had to open it in Illustrator and convert it in svg, first.
Re: custom background from png
Now that you've converted it to SVG, can you open it with Inkscape?

Re: custom background from png
Ok, so delete everything except the object that you need. Then import the PNG image. Next, you'll probably have to send the PNG to the bottom of the z-order. Then just save or export, depending on your needs.
