Hi everyone.
I'm using Inkscape to create a calendar, and I want to put part of an image in a certain spot. I masked the image with a rectangle, put that doesn't export correctly. I also tried clipping it. Neither export as pdf correctly.
Is there some way I can export it correctly? Maybe I can use a different way of clipping or masking an image. Perhaps Object Intersection with a square? I tried that and it didn't work.
Maybe I can use a development version that has better support for pdf creation?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Exporting clipped or masked as PDF
Re: Exporting clipped or masked as PDF
Hello Tim,
You should definitely try a nightly build, as exporting has indeed been improved:
http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php ... EPS_export
You can find these nightly builds in the download section of inkscape.org. They will be more likely to crash though, so don't uninstall your previous version just yet. If you're on Windows, then make sure you download one of the files that's 41 MB large. More recent versions of the automatic builds look to be defective, as the file size is only 6.3 MB.
Good luck!

Re: Exporting clipped or masked as PDF
If you're not prepared to use a development build, you'll need to use the Intersection path operation to restrict the visible area. Note that that path operation is not reversable like a clip or mask is.
