Hi Friends,
I've always wondered why this is so, but never got around to asking. It's not all that important, in any case. But I'm curious -- whenever I need to Export Bitmap, I always Save before doing so, just to be safe. But then AFTER I export, and try to close the SVG image window, I'm prompted to Save or Close without saving. Why is this? I don't see how exporting a bitmap changes the image in any way.

ISTR, but can't be bothered to check, that Inkscape remembers the name you used to export.

Hhm....ok, well why does it matter what the filename was when I exported? Even if I later change the name of the file, there's still a file with the old name.

I've now checked, and it does as I remembered.

Inkscape keeps note that file "Foo.svg" last exported to "c:/My Documents/My Inkscape Renders/Bar.png". So when you make a tweak to the original tomorrow, or next week, you most likely don't have to re-renter the target path when you export.

Ok, thanks for your help Slow Dog. Now I can choose whether to save (again) or not save, and actually know what I'm doing.
