Some quickies here: How do I make an object, like, say, a circle, have a grid patterns on it? I made a grid but it was square shaped.
Also, can I make a hex gris?
PS Ad Astra is getting good reviews.

Kinda like a circle cut from graphing paper? If you have your grid all you need to do is "clip" it. You can look up clip in the Inkscape Guide to find how to use it.

Sure, why not

Re: Want to apply grid to an object, and do a hex grid
the P6 symmetry would work too, just make something square and invisible, and locate an upright stroke on it
-> if the stroke is on the rightmost, the resulting figure will be a hexagon
-> if the stroke is not as high as the (invisible) square, the hexagons will look "dashed" just like on WarHammer battlemaps
-> if the stroke is a little to the left tof the rightmost side of the square, the hexagons will be spaced apart
-> if the stroke is on the rightmost, the resulting figure will be a hexagon
