Inkscape and Blender

Postby hellocatfood » Sun Dec 14, 2008 11:36 am

I've been toying with the idea of using Blender to render 3d models to vectors. The benefits of doing this are that you can have scalable vectors from multiple views. The results are looking good so far!

I used a plugin called Pantograph. You can read about how I did it here

Enjoy :-D

That's pretty interesting. Lately I have been finding myself in Blender more and more. Though I use it mostly as a video editor, I still fiddle around with the modeler. It takes a completely different mind set for me since I am an engineer in "real" life that spends a huge part of his day modeling 3d "solid" objects instead of 3d "mesh" objects. I haven't really explored bringing in Inkscape objects yet but I would like to learn more about it.

SVG import works for the most part, but the export is what needs the most work.

Imagine combining it with Makehuman. Could make for some awesome pictures
