Shortcut Add node under mouse position

Postby wizzle » Sat Sep 05, 2015 7:04 pm

Hi Guys, I actually have two questions. Firstly the main question, I wish to add a node to a bezier at mouse pointer location via key press. Shift I and Insert are not what I am looking for as they add a node in the center of the object. I am not sure if this is possible though.

Secondly everytime I create a bezier line it has Power Stroke and Spiro Spline added to it how can I stop this as it wastes a lot of my time.

Thanks

If the path is selected, and with the Node tool, you can double-click to add a new node, under the mouse. I don't know if it's possible to attach a key stroke to that.

Yes, 0.91 has some confusing new options for Pen and Pencil tools. Make sure they are set to normal mode (not Spiro Spline mode) and the Shape option is set to None. Set those on the tool control bar, when each tool is engaged.

Yeah I dont think its possible to attach key stroke to it, I would love also change node to auto smooth node with key stroke which is what I seem to constantly need.

Also with the Pen tool, I didnt realise that, thanks. I should have noticed it lol!

Oh, but I think you can change the node type with a key! I'm always doing it by accident, and it drives me crazy. https://inkscape.org/en/doc/keys091.html#d0e3977 (Ctrl + click is the one that gets me)

Hi.

Are you running on Windows?

I would simply have installed Autohotkey, and used a simple script that would turn a key combination into a double click. If you go for this solution I'll be happy to help you making a simple script, but you need to decide what hotkey you want to use :)
