Hi.
I am an sociology student and I produce a lot of plots and I would like to edit these plots as they often become cluttered.
I would like to know if it is possible to automatically let Inkscape assign each colour to its own layer. For example I want to assign all red text and all red dots to the same layer and all blue text and blue dots to another layer.
This would make it possible to show and hide variables. It has to be automatic because I constantly have to revise my plots and graphs.
Is this possible?
Any help is appreciated.
Anton.

Not currently as far as I'm aware, but may not be too hard to do with an extension. What are you generating the plots in?

Hi.
I am using stata to generate the plots.
Do you know if this is possible to do in illustrator. But I would prefer not having to rely on non-free software.

It's not a feature I've seen, and I would be surprised if you could. But if you wanted to know for sure I recommend asking on the forums at illustratorworld.com.
