How to get a picture in your text in Inkscape?
where the text is filed with an image, and the background outside the text is a solid color or a different image or pattern?

Two ways:
1. Create a pattern using the background image and then fill your text with the pattern
2. Create text, convert to path, no fill, use text/path to clip image (object>clip>set)
