Hi there, I've moved over to Inkscape from Illustrator CS4 and can't seem to see how to create a new symbols library.

How can I create new symbols or import my Illustrator Libraries?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Inkscape Community!

What format are your symbol files?  I know some people make SVG files to hold all their symbols, which they call a "library".  But maybe you are talking about something like a wingding font?

If they are SVG files, have a look in your inkscape directory,  inkscape/share/symbols and read the README file.  Is that what you're looking for?

Are you using the new stable 0.91?

I think if you put  your SVG symbol files into that directory, they will appear in the Symbols dialog (which quite confusingly is in the Objects menu).
