Hi Friends,
Through my search for good quality Inkscape tutorials, I've gained a fairly good idea of what's available, and what might be missing.  So now and then I'll be able to add to this list, in case anyone is interested in writing/creating tutorials, but can't think of a good subject.

If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to reply below.  But I'll only be adding to this list if I agree with you that there's a need for it.  The reason for that is because I've seen people post a message, who need to draw some very specific, often esoteric subject, and don't want to take the time to learn the basics.

I wish we had loads of people who had time to write customized tutorials.  But these tutorial writers/creators will probably be few and far between.  (I'll try to write some here and there, when I have time.)  So I'll be looking for subjects that I've either seen many requests for, or that fill a gap in our collections.  The 1st one I just realized we need it, starts the list below:

  • 3D Ball / Sphere / Orb  Note that I've seen a few for drawing shiny ball/orb/sphere, such as a marble.  But making a shiny/glassy object is quite a different skill.  This should be an opaque ball, such as basketball or baseball, in simulated 3D or photorealistic.
  • Node Editing  I need a video tutorial that shows every aspect of drawing with the Pen and Pencil, and that covers every aspect of node editing (adding nodes, deleting nodes, breaking paths, joining paths, etc.

If anyone is interested in writing/creating any of these, please let me know :D

If it's a tutorial that you made or wrote, you can find info here:  How to Request a Review of Tutorials, about how to request for me to review it, and potentially have it listed on the Inkscape Tutorials page (Home tab).

If you didn't make or write it yourself, you can post a message on the Tutorial Review Requests board, with a link to it.  There's more info about that in the sticky topic (the one that stays at the top).

If it's not an already existing tutorial, and you want to make or write a new one yourself, to live here on this site, you can find info here:  http://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php?topic=51.0.

And if you have an idea for a tutorial that you'd like to see written, you're in the right place already.  Just describe what you want in the message.  (Although again, no guarantees anyone will want to write/make one.)

Yes, I want to read/watch tutorials before I list them.  I don't know any other way to make sure they contain current and/or correct info.

Thank you brynn

I've updated the mini tut image and will add it to an article as you suggested, there is another I wanted to add, but now I cant find the upload button for images
in the tutorials album.(edit: Nevermind, I found it) I dont care if the article is never added to the list on the home page, but I thought it might be helpful for some people who are very new to Inkscape.
Should I post a review request topic for it when its done?

Yeah, it took me a while to get used to uploading images too.  To me, I want to go to the album where I want to store the image, and then look for an upload button.  But instead, you start with Upload File (text link) in the box in the top right corner of the window.  Once there, you choose the album.

No need to request a review for tutorials to be hosted here.  Once you submit the article, I'll see it on my end, waiting to be approved.

But this is an interesting thought.  How do people know to look at the Articles tab, to find tutorials?  Originally, there was a mod that would allow me to rename the tabs.  Then the Articles tab would have been renamed to Tutorials.   But there was some kind of problem installing it.  I'll have to look back into that.  Maybe there's another mod.  Or......actually......I think I know something that will work.  Or otherwise, I'll make a place on the Inkscape Tutorials page for our "local" tutorials.  Or actually, it wouldn't be a baad idea to have both!

It's good to have someone blazing the way, and helping me work out the kinks   :buds:

Ok, now we have an IC Tutorials tab.  And once I approve the "articles" I'll add them to the InksTuts page (Home tab).   :hd3:

Are they tutorials which are already on the internet?  If so, we might already have them listed.  You can check the Home tab for the list.

Or do you mean they are unpublished tutorials?

Which community do they come from?
