Ok, this is another one I've wanted for a long time! In certain boards, you can now see a list of similar topics, based on the topic title, at the top of opened topics. I think it will be a great help for people who are searching the forum, to find the answers they need. It will become more and more effective, as more and more messages are posted.
Of course, it's not perfect. It could show topics that aren't related at all, because the people who posted them might not have chosen the best title for their topic. And it's not right for all boards either. I've tried to choose the best boards for it, but we may need to tweak the settings, as we learn more about how it works.
And it not only shows similar topics on the topic page. When someone posts a new topic, a list of similar topics is shown, once they type in the title for their topic. I sincerely hope this will help reduce the indicence of the same question posted over and over and over.
I have allowed this for this Testing board, even though it doesn't really make sense for this board. But just to see how it works, you can try posting a new topic.
Hhmm -- just looking at the similar topics for this.....I might be mistaken about the list being based on the title of the topic. Because there are topics shown which don't share any words with this title!
Well still, this mod is worth a good test anyway!
