EB Garamond not showing in 0.91 or 0.92.4

I am working on a project in which I need a Garamond style font to at least approximate a commercial Garamond (Simoncini) I don't have and only need this once.

I installed 0.91 from the dmg file, and 0.92.4 from Macports. The Mac OS is Mojave, the latest release.

I have several free Garamond variants installed with the Mac Font Book, and neither of the Inkscape versions lists any of them among the available fonts. I copied the EB Garamond files in both OTF and TTF into /opt/local/share/inkscape/fonts, which is where Macports installs it, and they still are not listed.

Any ideas why they might not show? From searches on the web and in the forums I've not been able to find anything that would help. Thanks....

Have you restarted Inkscape (all open instances need to be closed and re-opened) since installing the font?

Hhmm, this can't be the same bug we see in Windows, can it?  I don't think so, but if restarting Inkscape doesn't help, I'm not sure what to suggest.  Maybe someone else will have an idea.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I've restarted both several times, and they still do not show in the list. I've had EB Garamond installed for a long time, but this is the first time I have wanted it in Inkscape so had not missed it in the list.

I don't know about the Windows bug so can't comment on that.

/opt/local/share/inkscape/fonts might just not work (yet, it might with Inkscape 1.0)

Install the fonts globally, as you would for using with other programs on your Mac.
