I want to combine paths, and I want them to preserve the original color before the combination. I tried Path>Union, but it changes color. I tried Path>Combine, but it changes color. I may do the grouping, but then the gradient should be applied all the object separately. How do you guys combine or union without changing the original color?

You can't use either Combine or Union, and keep separate fill or stroke colors of objects.  Both of those commands create one path, and one path can only have one color.  So you have to use Group.

I'm not clear what your concern is about using Group and gradients.  You can have separate gradients on Objects, and group them without changing the gradients.

It sounds like this might be a somewhat complex file.  I can think of a way to combine or union paths, and still apply different colors to different parts.  But it wouldn't work under every circumstance.  So I would need more info before I explain.  Please feel free to share the SVG file.

What you can do is copy the object to the clipboard with Ctrl+C before you do the Boolean operation. After the operation, you can paste the style back to the new object with Ctrl+Shift+V.
