I have the most recent version of Inkscape for Mac that should be 64 bit and the most recent version of XQwartz. And my OS is 10.3.5. Still Inkscape is shown in 32 bit. When apple is updating to 10.14 this version is no longer supported because it does not support 32 bit programs. Does anybody know why I downloaded a 64 bit version but it keeps on showing it as 32 bit?

There are no other versions available currently. Maybe if you compile it yourself (using macports or homebrew) you might get another architecture than the one you have.

I'd suggest that for this specific question, it would be a good idea to ask on the developer mailing list and / or in the developer chat on IRC - I can't help you with it, only some devs know enough about that to be of help.
