Have a good day.

I have a line (with a 3rd node at a point) : Arch 1.PNG
*Arch 1.PNG
(10.55 kB . 336x549)
(viewed 75 times)

whose rotation point has been moved at a right place, because I can rotate the line as I want : Arch 2.PNG
*Arch 2.PNG
(9.41 kB . 338x551)
(viewed 71 times)

Now I want to keep only a little part of the line, and keep the original rotation point : Arch 3.PNG
*Arch 3.PNG
(9.17 kB . 335x551)
(viewed 71 times)

But when I apply the rotation, it seems that the original rotation center has been moved : Arch 4.PNG
*Arch 4.PNG
(9.01 kB . 334x551)
(viewed 72 times)

Of course, what I want is : Arch 5.PNG
*Arch 5.PNG
(8.99 kB . 331x545)
(viewed 68 times)

How to keep the rotation point at the center of the arch ? What did escape to my understanding ?
Thanks in advance.

Ah yes, whenever you edit a path, the rotation center automatically goes back to center.  I don't really know why that happens.

I can think of a couple of possible solutions.  One is that before you edit the path, duplicate it.  Then after you edit the path, you can snap the rotation center to the rotation center of the duplicate.  After that, you can delete the duplicate.

Or another idea is before you edit the path, drag out 2 guides, one horizontal and one vertical, and snap them to the rotation center.  Then after you edit the path, you can snap the rotation center to the guidelines' intersection.

I might have another approach for you though.  From the image you showed, it reminds me of this tutorial for drawing a tachometer.  So this is just in case it might work better.  http://goinkscape.com/how-to-create-a-tachometer-in-inkscape/
