Wow! Nice work!
If I would make one comment, it would be the transition from wood to lead. Usually it's on an angle (because pencil not usually sharpened perfectly centered) (yeah, I know they use graphite these days - shame, shame - lead is much more useful).
Of course you're welcome to use the Articles/Tutorials feature here, if you like.
Hey, I didn't know you started a blog! Did I miss the announcement? Or you didn't announce? Nice illiteration (I love illiteration )
That's the most minimalistic blog I've ever seen. Hard to navigate to older posts, can only browse one at a time. Lost patience trying to find the first post, to find out when you started it.
I'll get it linked up here. And there's probably some place on the website where we could put a link, if you like.
You might as well have the manual on your blog, right? I'll definitely add it to our collection (whenever it's finished)!
Looking forward to the filters manual. Congrats on the blog
Thank's!
I know the pencil has plenty of issues regarding a photorealistic look. Previously made
this one, and that
curly pencil, and it took some hours to build it up again from scratch. This one is using gradient meshes, which was a new rout I took.
It's good for representing the basic idea. May I draw better looking pencils sometime. And may the filtering options help it more.
(For example stretching the wood grain at the edges to simulate a curved surface now is taking plenty of head scratching.)
Started the blog almost a year ago. Haven't announced it yet "big time".
I wrote it in for my homepage at my openclipart
profile, and linked to posts on it at inkscape's g+ page whenever I felt it was worthy.
-Just checked, indeed my very first post was posted exactly
a year ago, however the first with actual content was up only in
August.
It's not the regular "by date" ordered blog, just an inventory of ideas that I always pick up on time to time -at least that was the basic idea.
Like, in that
iterative art topic, where I tried to build upon concepts originating back to my teens. As none of those are maxed out, there is plenty of room for improving.
At the bottom of the "main page" you can see the list of pages -there is only 2 currently:
one was recently renamed to
repository of custom svg filters and the other one (quite empty yet) is about
tutorials.
The site's layout is preventing me to use a sticky post on the main page. If I understand right I could only reposition the list of pages part to be on top in order for a better visibility.
