Yes, there is an indication that it was moved. The forum indicates where a message was moved from. (I guess they do that, so the member can find it when they look for where they posted it.) And if I happened to look at that board where it was originally posted, I would have seen it. But it was such an odd place, why would I look there? The forum wasn't indicating a new message there. Since you had moved it, the new message indicator was only showing on it's new place. So I only looked there. But in the new place, it looks like the message was posted there originally - there's no indication that it was moved from somewhere else. There's just no clue when you look at the message in it's new place.
Oh yes, of course it's logged, but it didn't occur to me to look it up. Because the new message indicator is only showing the new place, and in the new place, it looks just like a regular message. There's no way to know it was moved if you didn't see the board where it was before. (And even then, there could be other moved message indications, and we might not notice which topic title was moved.)
I think I see a way to use the forum controls, to indicate the message was moved. Maybe that would be faster than posting a separate message about it?
When you look at the Move Topic dialog, there are 2 options:
Change the topic's subject. -- We normally leave that unchecked.
Post a redirection topic. -- We normally check that option.
What if we also check the first option, and when we change the subject, we leave the original title in place, and just add something like [was moved]? I'll make a test in the Testing board, to find out if it might be helpful.
