This year, the development team is having another meetup live in Germany.
Why? Because the Boston Hackfest was so successful it's been decided the next major release will be the long awaited 1.0!

The brainstorming session will be held for five days, where community members are welcomed as well as core developers.

If you'd like to contribute with your presence or with a small donations, check out this link for further details:

Yes, thanks indeed  :D

(This is probably a corny idea, but I keep wishing there were some way to show appreciation to developers.  I mean, besides a donation, since not everyone can afford to make monetary donation (or travel).  I keep thinking about some kind of graphic created by the community - whoever wants to join in.  I have absolutely no idea about where to start with that, and whenever I try to brainstorm, it seems to get cornier and cornier.

The only semi-decent idea so far, is to do it after the hackfest, and make kind of a poster to commemorate the event - based on the work that was done, maybe the....sort of personality or theme of the event, maybe using the new features, etc.  Like usually an article is written about it afterward, but it would be like the article but in graphic form....if that makes sense.

Would it be cool to have a poster to commemorate each hackfest, going forward?  Maybe someday in the future, it could become a contest??

Too corny? )

Dunno. It just sounds like it's not something I will be able to invest time into. If someone wants to do it, that's fine! Getting the community to build something together is a good first step of recruitment :)
CR made the sticker, that's going to be enough for me.

Have you thought of trying to support CR in creating that commemorative Inkscape 1.0 stuff? It would roughly be the same topic.

I haven't heard anything about that.  Haven't checked my email yet today though.

Thanks for comments

It has come up during the previous 2 (or three?) board meetings.
