Generating Toolpath
I seem to have a glitch with generating a tool path, the tool path does not show directly over my object to engrave. The toolpath is shown off to the top of the page? Anyone experience this?

Re: Generating Toolpath
So, from what I read, I derive (guess), that:
- You're using an outdated Inkscape version - current is 0.92.4
- You're using the gcodetools extension
Is that correct?

Re: Generating Toolpath
Correct Moini, Thanks
I tried to download .92.4 and with Vista it would not work? so I did a clean install of .92.3, I am using the Jtech Photonics laser extension, I think the code is generating correct? but as noted the laser tool path shows up on in the work area not over the image like it should. Is this maybe a Jtech issue? I have the updated plug in so not sure, looks like this

Re: Generating Toolpath
So the Jtech extension creates the rectangle with the red stroke? Not the gcodetools that come with Inkscape?
Do you have a link to the source of the extension?
Things to check:
Is there maybe a known issue for it?
Has it maybe been updated recently?

Re: Generating Toolpath
I have these links for that extension:
https://jtechphotonics.com/?page_id=1980
and
https://github.com/A-Metaphysical-Drama/J-Tech-Photonics-Laser-Tool
The last time I looked into it (and year or so ago) it didn't look very current. But I don't really know.
However, I'm confused. Are you using both the Gcodetools extensions, AND the JTechPhonics extension? Or does it just happen that JTechPhonics puts the same orientation points on the page that the Gcodetools > Orientation Points extension does?
I'm not sure if this could be caused by wrong Scale setting or not???

Re: Generating Toolpath
Okay, it seems there are different versions available for 0.92 and 0.91. Please use the version that matches your Inkscape version
https://jtechphotonics.com/?page_id=1980
Direct link to their zip file for 0.92 is
http://www.jtechphotonics.com/Downloads/Inkscape/JTP_Laser_Tool_V2_2%20-%20inkscape%209_2%20version.zip
And yes, it seems to create the same orientation points as the gcodetools do, and also creates gcode.
