I just noticed
a message at IF. Someone has made a new icons file which will make the icons, which are nearly impossible to see on the 64-bit version of Inkscape (which I understand is Partha's signature gray windows), easier to see. I hope that IF member, doesn't mind me providing the link to that file here, as well.

I haven't tried them yet, and by the screenshot in above ref'd topic, not all icons are easier to see.
But it doesn't sound that hard to make an icon set. Maybe I'll try it?
