Hello, I'm new to this forum. I posted this question in the 'cutting' forum. I want to only post according to your policy so please let me know if posting in 2 different forums is allowed or not. I get an error message trying to save as a .plt file. I need that format to use with the software connected to a laser engraver. It requires one of these vector formats: dxf, ai, plt, dst, dsb. I tried following instructions I found online about installing UniConvertor but still cannot save as .plt. I get an error message. If anyone can help with this that would be great. I searched for .plt and didn't see any posts with answers. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

I guess it's a long story why there are different forums around.  But hopefully, someday, they'll all be merged into one.  Since this forum is probably more equipped to answer your question, I'll put a link in the topic in the other forum to here.  (Posting in more than one forum is only a problem if the people answering your question don't know that you're potentially trying a different technique to solve the same problem, at the same time.  But in this case, we'll just direct the traffic from the other topic here, so that there's no conflicting info :))

Are these the instructions you followed?  If not, you might review them, to make sure you didn't miss something.  https://inkscape.org/en/learn/faq/#how-install-uniconvertor-windows

What is the error message you're getting?  Is the error message from Inkscape?

Are you using File menu > Save As PLT?  (as opposed to Extensions menu > Export > Plot)
