I upgraded to the newest version this morning (Windows 10), late I know!

Installation went well.  I have rebooted.

I'm getting Xes inside of icons.  I have attached a photo showing the problem.  Can anyone point me in the correct direction?

Thanks!

Couldn't find anything related in the bug reports. I know about an error that affects extensions, and could well also affect icons. Can you please try if uninstalling and reinstalling Inkscape 0.92.2 helps?

Welcome Kim!

When you upgraded, did you uninstall your previous version?  Or did you use the new update option for Windows?  Did you switch from 64-bit to 32-bit (or vice versa)?

I'm a little out of my depths here guys so am willing to heed any advice but could an icons.svg be placed inside the <Inkscape install directory >/ share >/ icons/ and - hopefully - the new icons will be activated/read by Inkscape?

@TMadisson: If that file is missing, it's an issue with installation, and other things could have gone wrong, too. Uninstalling/Reinstalling is a more promising fix.
By the way, that anti-social moving banner - can it be made static? It really distracts from the contents.

WOWza!  Something weird.  I went to uninstall it and there was nothing to uninstall.  Control Panel>Programs showed nothing had been installed yesterday and I had nothing found when I searched for "ink." Of course, I was USING the program.  lol.  So, I reinstalled and just like magic I have icons!  Thank you for all your help.
